New E-Books

I spent a few hours last weekend with our new and prospective students at the San Diego campus — what a great group! It was a real privilege to meet and interact with them, as well as to see long-time San Diego APU friends and faculty Mickey Stonier and Chuck Allers.

In addition to the two regional theology library collections (at our centers in San Diego and Los Angeles), I have been finding more resources that are available electronically –  E-books. This list below includes titles added to our collections in the past two months. While the other titles I have posted are sorted by LC classification, these are not.

You can access our e-books in several ways:

1. If you find an item while doing a search in Apolis, you can click on it and look at it immediately.

2. You can search for e-books in the Apolis catalog – use the pulldown menu that reads “View entire collection” and instead, click on the e-book link. You can then search by keyword to see if we have books on your area of interest.

3. We have an additional e-book collection called Net Library. This is located (at least for now) on our list of databases – so look under the letter “N” to find it. Alternatively, you can select a subject search instead and click on the link to E-books. There you will also find the Past Masters database and Harrison’s Online. Past Masters provides primary resource material from major philosophers and theologians and is word searchable (a great help when trying to locate where exactly Augustine said something!). Harrison’s is used by our Nursing students and is the Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine text.

Here are our recent E-book additions:
